Douglas Marquette, CLU, CPCU
Doug has been in the insurance industry since 1979 and has worked
and managed in each of the industry’s main functions: claims,
underwriting, and sales. He has owned the Marquette Insurance Agency,
with offices in Bridgeport, Philippi, and Morgantown since January of 2005.
He is a graduate of Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio. He has pursued additional academic honors in the insurance industry, earning his Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation in 1991 and his Chartered Life Underwriter designation in 1994.
He is a Board member of Associated Businesses of Bridgeport, he is a Chamber member of the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce, he writes a weekly column for the Barbour Democrat, "Just Ask Doug", and he is the creator and sponsor of the elementary school academic program, "I Can".
He is a father to two adult boys, one working for the government and the other serving as a mental health professional in the Army. He is also a stepfather to a wonderful ten-year old girl. In his spare time he enjoys tennis, skiing, and rollerblading.
